News from the trading desk…

I had a few emails lob in my inbox commenting on last week’s post relating to my argument for the need to persist trading through periods of drawdown. Can I ask that you don’t email these comments guys, but instead put them where they belong – in the ‘Comments’ section of the blog itself. Don’t be shy – have your say. By commenting directly, everyone can benefit from your thoughts, and debate the merits, etc.

Anyway, I got the feeling that some of you are a little tentative with your trading because you don’t feel fully comfortable with technology, i.e., computers and software. Really? Is that your excuse for not taking a trade? C’mon, don’t make things difficult for yourself, especially with the things that are actually meant to make trading easy! Believe me, I’ve heard all the other excuses as well; the broker ran my stops, my VPS is too slow, the sun was in my eyes… . Puleeeease don’t make me add, “I’m too old to learn” because that’s just plain nonsense!

I know of two ACTP members, Bruce and Frank (there could be more – let me know), who are both over 80, and who have committed themselves to learning the ropes by reading, asking questions, and above all else, actually playing with the machine. I can confirm they are both doing well. My own mother (who isn’t a trader BTW) is 89 young and holds court in the Twitterverse with a following of over 490 other Tweeters!  Twitter? 89? Do these sync? You better believe it, and if these if these guys can make the effort to bring themselves up to speed with the technology, 50 and 60 year old ‘young guns’ should have no problem whatsoever. Yes, it requires a bit of effort, of course, but if you really want to achieve something beneficial, you just make the effort and put in the time.

ROBOS gained a modest 3.32% last week, but EscM15 fell back by 2.00%. Enjoy the weekend and get ready to fight again next week. See you them.

Check out last week’s trades below. First ROBOS, and then the Escalator M15…
